The Auto Body Skeet Tournament event was held on May 25, 2017 at Elm Fork Shooting Sports in Dallas, TX. It was open to all collision industry members. We hosted a 100 clay tournament- style sporting clay course. Teams of four went out on golf carts and shot skeet at stations. The top shooter won a Browning Rifle and the four runners up won a Henry Golden Eagle .22 Long rifle. Prizes were raffled which included items like a Curado reel and Shimano Rod, Costa sunglasses, a bird hunting kit,-Dent Puller, 4 bottles of high end whiskey, gift cards and much more.

This event was held to bring awareness, camaraderie, and communication to ABAT and it’s members and to allow our sponsors to interact with their customers in a laid back environment. The more interaction we can provide our members with, the more they can get to know each other and communicate effectively. ABAT is all about communication, education, and legislation. We cannot do any of those things alone. Plus, we like to have a little fun- and it’s Texas and we like to shoot guns.

ABAT Skeet Shoot 2017We must come together as a local industry to better ourselves. For the success of our shop owners and for the safety of the consumer.  These events give the association an opportunity to market our educational seminars that we offer our members to educate their staff.

We expected this event to be a fun alternative to the popular golf tournaments that are hosted each year within our industry. With this being the inaugural year, it was a great success. We had an intimate crowd and an outpouring of great feedback. Many participants are already looking forward to next year.
